         Het betreft opgravingen en inventariserend veldwerkonderzoek op en rondom het terrein van de Scholengemeenschap Bonaire (SGB) in eigendom van het Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire (OLB). Het ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap (OCW) zal optreden als opdrachtgever en laat zich vertegenwoordigen door het Rijksvastgoedbedrijf (RVB), die de sturing van het programma en het projectmanagement levert.

         Het doel van de opgraving is om het deel van de vindplaats dat door de realisatie van de plannen ten behoeve van de nieuwbouw van het MBO wordt bedreigd, te onderzoeken en documenteren zodat de vindplaats ex-situ behouden blijft. Het doel van het inventariserend onderzoek is om te onderzoeken of de nieuwbouwlocatie van het VMBO en Speciale Leerplaatsen (SLP) ook archeologische waarde heeft en of er vervolg onderzoek nodig is. Hiervoor dient de aard, datering en omvang van de eventuele archeologische resten te worden vastgesteld.

         Voor de opgraving dient een oppervlakte van ca. 3 561 m2 vlakdekkend onderzocht te worden. Ten behoeve van het inventariserend veldwerkonderzoek dient maximaal 9 723 m2 onderzocht te worden. Vanwege de kritische tijdsplanning van de nieuwbouw van het B&V gebouw dient het veldwerk binnen zes (6) weken te zijn afgerond.
